How to get a legit talent agent(:?

i auditioned for an acting agency called "The" (pronounced tay) and idk if it was fake or not but i didn't get in or any phone calls back. i did NOT pay anything to audition FYI. i just wanted to know how to find a real, safe, local agent to get me auditions and roles and such? any suggestions wil be gladly taken. thanks;D
